Heswall Concert Band
Beats, Batons & Biscuits...The Concert Band for All!
Heswall Concert Band was founded by Les Stevenson and four others in 1996. We now have 40 members and continue to grow. We play many genres of music including concert band classics, music from shows and films, pop music and even music arranged by some of our members.
Our aim is to provide an environment for
musicians of all ages and all abilities
such that their creative musical talents may be enhanced, bringing joy to themselves and sharing this enjoyment with the local community.
We perform at a variety of venues each year and are always working on new opportunities that will develop our community links. Our conductor is Becky Thomas who has led the band since 2017.
Rehearsals take place every Sunday between 9:45am and 12:00pm and we always make time for a cuppa half way through.
Due to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus, band rehearsals have stopped until further notice.
Please do keep an eye on your emails and our Facebook page for further updates. We will be keeping in touch throughout this time, and encourage members to look at your music!
We will confirm or cancel future concert dates via this site, facebook page and twitter (@heswallCBand).
'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Blues' Premier!
We have been keeping busy during lockdown with weekly quiz nights and Sunday morning zoom coffee. Last week we had our first (and hopefully last) Christmas Zoom party, with the premier of our new piece for body percussion by Wirral based composer Izzy Ryder.
The piece is great fun and we look forward to performing it at a future concert, whenever that may be.
We all hope you are keeping well and wish you a very Happy Christmas! Let's hope 2021 sees the 'show go on' and music starting to be played live again.
