Our theme for 2026 is Travel
In January 2026 we began rehearsals for our new themed programme, this time exploring modes of travel. The band is already enjoying the variety this theme offers, with music inspired by rail, sea, air and road. We have also commissioned a brand‑new work for the season, with more details to be announced soon. It promises to be an exciting year of fresh repertoire and musical adventure.
Our next performances will take place on 23rd and 24th May 2026 from 2pm-5pm in the beautiful surroundings of Poulton Hall Gardens. This will be our first public outing of the new travel themed programme, we look forward to sharing more details as the season approaches.
The concerts are part of the garden open days which are in aid of British Red Cross on Saturday 23rd May and local hospital charities on Sunday 24th May.
Tickets can be purchased in advance and there is an option to also buy a cream tea.
We are very much looking forward to performing again in the Lady Level Art Gallery.
Our 60 minute programme will include pieces by Ethyl Smith, Florence Price, Amy Beach and Cecile Chaminade. the programme is linked to the May Morris: Crafting a Legacy Exhibition.

Our theme for 2025 was Myths and Legends
We enjoyed playing music inspired by King Arthur, extracts from Edvard Greig’s Peer Gynt, extracts from Stravinsky's Firebird as well as some lighter modern legends: Star Wars, Dr Who, Harry Potter and Wicked; blending folklore, fantasy, science fiction, drama, action and romance in a highly entertaining programme.
We enjoyed the two premiere performances of our Myths and Legends programme in the beautiful setting of Poulton Hall Gardens. The gardens were a perfect setting with sculptures and statues that represent myths and legends. We performed 3 movements from the brand new Arthur Suite composed by our Conductor Greg Williams and other music including Doctor Who, Robin Hood, Star Wars and Wicked.
We enjoyed accompanying West Kirby Musical Theatre Company in their 75th Anniversary Concerts at Westbourne Hall in West Kirby. Musical numbers included songs from Oliver, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast and Shrek.
We enjoyed playing music inspired by King Arthur, Robin Hood other more modern myths legends in the historic setting of Birkenhead Priory.
Birkenhead Priory, a 870 year old site, has a history that includes royalty, the birth of a city, and a religious life. Sitting on the banks of the Mersey, the Priory is the gateway to understanding how the Wirral grew over almost 1,000 years.
