Heswall Concert Band

Beats, Batons & Biscuits...The Concert Band for All!

Heswall Concert Band was founded by Les Stevenson and four others in 1996. We now have 40 members and continue to grow. We play many genres of music including concert band classics, music from shows and films, pop music and even music arranged by some of our members.

Our aim is to provide an environment for

musicians of all ages and all abilities

such that their creative musical talents may be enhanced, bringing joy to themselves and sharing this enjoyment with the local community.

We perform at a variety of venues each year and are always working on new opportunities that will develop our community links. Our conductor is Becky Thomas who has led the band since 2017.

Rehearsals take place every Sunday between 9:45am and 12:00pm and we always make time for a cuppa half way through.

Due to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus, band rehearsals have stopped until further notice.

Please do keep an eye on your emails and our Facebook page for further updates. We will be keeping in touch throughout this time, and encourage members to look at your music!

We will confirm or cancel future concert dates via this site, facebook page and twitter (@heswallCBand).

Happy Make Music Day 2020!

Heswall Concert Band have been keeping busy and connected during the lockdown while we wait for our rehearsals to begin again.

To celebrate World Make Music Day 2020, we have reversed our roles in band to create a unique multi-video performance.

With our conducting workshop and concert unable to go ahead as originally planned, we were determined to continue to make music together and celebrate our musical community on this day. Therefore, we moved our plans online.

Through online masterclasses from our wonderful conductor, band members have learnt the art of conducting.

In this special performance of ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ our conductor hands over the baton to become the band, as members test out their newly acquired skills!
