2026 Season
In January 2026 we began rehearsals for our new themed programme, this time exploring modes of travel. The band is already enjoying the variety this theme offers, with music inspired by rail, sea, air and road. We have also commissioned a brand‑new work for the season, with more details to be announced soon. It promises to be an exciting year of fresh repertoire and musical adventure.
Looking Back at our 2025 Season
In 2025 we performed at nine concerts, sharing our Myths and Legends programme with audiences across the region. Our repertoire drew on stories old and new, with music inspired by King Arthur, Robin Hood, and modern legends such as Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Wicked. We brought the year to a festive close with three Christmas concerts, each warmly received and well attended.
Heswall Concert Band was founded in 1996. Find out more about the the band, our conductor, past concerts and legal band documents (privacy notice, constitution, data protection and retention policy).
Highlights from 2025
We enjoyed accompanying West Kirby Musical Theatre Company in their 75th Anniversary Concerts at Westbourne Hall in West Kirby. Musical numbers included songs from Oliver, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast and Shrek.
We enjoyed the two premiere performances of our Myths and Legends programme in the beautiful setting of Poulton Hall Gardens. The gardens were a perfect setting with sculptures and statues that represent myths and legends. We performed 3 movements from the brand new Arthur Suite composed by our Conductor Greg Williams and other music including Doctor Who, Robin Hood, Star Wars and Wicked.
Highlights from 2024
Heswall Concert Band had a great time performing festive selection box of music at The Palm House in Sefton Park. The programme included Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, songs from Christmas movies, carols for all to sing and a special arrangement of The 12 Days of Christmas, commissioned from musical director Greg Williams.
Here is a link to a video of an excerpt of
one of the pieces we performed.
What a great day we had - despite the rain! After a very early start, we performed at 10am on the main stage in the Pavilion which was a great experience. After a couple of hours to take in other performances and visit the trade stalls, we played on the Globe stage. This was under cover thankfully, although the sun did decide to show itself as we were playing. We played to a full, appreciative house before travelling home.

Rehearsals take place every Sunday between 9:45am and 12:00pm at Heswall Hall, 111 Telegraph Road, Heswall, Wirral, CH60 0AF.
