Heswall Concert Band
Beats, Batons & Biscuits...The Concert Band for All!
Heswall Concert Band was founded by Les Stevenson and four others in 1996. We now have 40 members and continue to grow. We play many genres of music including concert band classics, music from shows and films, pop music and even music arranged by some of our members.
Our aim is to provide an environment for
'musicians of all ages and all abilities'
such that their creative musical talents may be enhanced, bringing joy to themselves and sharing this enjoyment with the local community.
We perform at a variety of venues each year and are always working on new opportunities that will develop our community links. Our conductor is Becky Thomas who has led the band since 2017.
Rehearsals take place every Sunday between 9:45am and 12:00pm and we always make time for a cuppa half way through.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Les Stevenson, one of the founders of the band. As mentioned above, he along with four others, started the band in 1996 and the band continues to grow and develop, creating an incredible legacy.
We have created a page in memory of Les Stevenson which can be found here. If you have any photos or memories of the early band days you would like to share, please email and we can add them to the page.
Heswall Concert Band invite you to an afternoon of ‘Medley Madness’, a concert for all of the family. Come and listen to some musical medley favourites and if you like a challenge, join in with our ‘guess the melody’ quiz! We look forward to seeing you.
New Year Challenge?
We always welcome new members, so if you haven't played for a while or you have only been playing for a short time, why not come and join us?
We would be happy for you to come for a couple of taster rehearsals to see what it is all about. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to talk to us.
